Does anyone remember March of 1986 this twin day? Ms. douglas had her twin granddaughters visiting the school. One of many visits to the school for years to come but this was their first.

My favorite memory ~ Mrs. Douglas would make delicious carrot cake using bags of uneaten carrots from school cafeteria lunches. She was and always will be an inspiration ❤️

What a remarkable life my Aunt Joan lived. I will miss her spirit, self-awareness, and for being ever so insightful. I will also miss her sharing family history about my father, aunt, uncle, and grandparents, and even my great grandmother Margaret. We even broke down Margaret’s clam chowder recipe and Yes, Margaret in fact used canned condensed milk. I’m forever grateful and it was such a pleasant surprise when she came to my wedding. In recent years, it was fun talking to her about LA history from Jazz clubs to restaurants and in the sports world the Rams returning to LA and eventually winning the Super Bowl. Rothdell Trail and all of us share a tremendous void with her passing. We love you Aunt Joan. -Bret Fredericksen
